Virginia Tech Football Player Charged with Second-degree Murder

Virginia Tech football player, Isisemen Etute, is being charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of a 40-year-old man. The victim and Etute were acquaintances, but the authorities are not saying anything else about their relationship. (nbcnews)

The football player is currently being held at the Montgomery County jail without bond. He has been suspended from the team and Virginia Tech football coach Justin Fuente has not spoken publicly about Etute’s arrest. (washingtonpost)

Blacksburg police responded to a welfare check at 119 N. Main Street in Blacksburg on Tuesday night and found Smith deceased. The authorities came to the conclusion that Smith had been killed Monday night. This is not the first time Etute has had incidents with the law. The Blacksburg police are still requesting more information regarding the murder.
