Need help applying for college?

College Application Day will be held on Thursday, November 5th in the media center. You must sign up in guidance to be able to participate.

The Ridge asked some seniors how they’re going with their applications and what colleges they’re applying to.

Alex Calhoun has applied to Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, and plans on studying biology. “I’m really excited to go to Winthrop. I hope I get in. Just doing the application made my mom cry.”

Another senior, Sergio Saenz, is going to apply to Clemson for civil engineering.

Damien Emery, along with Saenz, has yet to apply but plans on applying to Clemson, USC, and College of Charleston to study engineering or physics. When asked why he hadn’t applied yet, he said, “I just haven’t had enough time to really sit down and do it,” which is understandable given our busy high school schedules and how applications can take up a lot of our time with essays and such.

The purpose of College Application Day is to assist senior students with starting and submitting applications for those who plan on attending . It’s geared toward encouraging students to attend college after graduation.

Seniors, please consider going! Get those applications submitted! Good luck!
