Ashley Ridge High School hosted a mystery and comedy play called  Don’t Try To Wake Him And Hand Me The Shovel. The play was on November 12th, 13th, and 14th, and it was held in the auditorium.

Mrs. Brower, theatre Educator and Director, said, “ The way I have described it to people is it’s  like an episode of Scooby- Doo, but there isn’t a dog. But it’s a spooky house and a lot of people keep showing up and causing each other confusion, and then they keep running out of doors, someone else runs in. So it’s very confusing but it makes fun of those old haunted house stories.”

Don’t Try to Wake Him And Hand  Me The Shovel seemed like a play that will keep you on your toes and had a lot of favorite scenes you could quote later on in the day. Mrs. Brower said, “My favorite scene is probably when we see the ghostbusters… And they run into to crooks who are trying to rob the place and their interactions are really funny because the ghostbusters are very excited to bust some ghosts, and the crooks are trying to hide their real identity. “

Don’t Try to Wake Him And Hand Me The Shovel caught the audience’s attention through the ridiculous parts in the play.  Junior at ARHS, Zay Bromley said, ” I think they will enjoy the ridiculous parts, which is the entire play. I do hope that people catch on to the more subtle jokes.”
