December 8th, Ashley Ridge Bands hosted a holiday concert. The Brass-only band performed A Christmas Fanfare, Woodwind-only band performed Midnight Sleigh Ride, Percussion-only performed Carol Of The Bells, and the whole band performed Jingle Bells, Ding Dong Merrily On High, A Fantasy Of Carols, and We Need A Little Christmas.

The performance was delayed by a wreck on 165, preventing the arrival of one of the band’s soloists.

“It was a great show considering we put it together in a week,” said Amber Ziemba, junior, and flute and oboist. “For me personally, the highlight of the concert was when we played A Fantasy of Carols, but overall it was when Manny (The soloist) arrived.”

Sabrina Linke, sophomore and trumpet player, said “The highlight of the concert for me was my solo going well.”

The concert was a major success for the band program, and a wonderful way to kick off the Concert Band season.
