Ashley Ridge’s own freshman, Bella White, walked Charleston Fashion Week from March 15-March 19 under the tents in Marion Square. The annual 5-night event showcased a mix of well-known and emerging East Coast designers and model talent.

To begin modeling, White took classes at Millie Lewis for a few weeks and worked for them for about a year. To model for Charleston Fashion Week, Bella went through two rounds of cuts. After that, there were classes to prepare for shows.

2016 was White’s first year in CFW and she is hoping to do it next year.

She describes the process, “to prepare for the show it was pretty stressful, but also fun. I met so many new people and learned great things in the process. It took many hours to perfect what you had to do in the show.”

She walked in a few shows including Lilly Pulitzer, Creatures of the Night, and Mosa.

“The overall experience was amazing. I had such a great time. Some things were overwhelming, but you can’t avoid that. I loved that I had a chance to do CFW and I’m hoping to do it every year.”
