The beginning of a new school year marks the end of an old one. It’s time to recognize the academic success of our fellow Swampfoxes with the High School Academic Awards Ceremony.

Each high school will have their own awards ceremony, but Ashley Ridge had theirs on Monday, October 3rd, in the gymnasium.

To receive an Academic letter, a student must obtain a level of academic success in the previous school year.  All of a students course grades have to average to be a 90 or above and each of their courses have to be A’s and B’s. The letters are only given to Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores in high school.

Students really strive to earn their letter in their high school career. “It is more than just an object,” Junior, Carly Platt said, “It is a way to see our hard work pay off.”

“Always getting to share my award ceremony with my family and friends made it even that much more awesome,” said ARHS Alumni, Clara Musselman.  In addition to sharing it with the ones you love, each student is always allowed to invite any teacher they felt that has had a big part of their academic success.

We are very proud of our Academic Lettered Foxes! We can’t for next years ceremony!
