The Ashley Ridge Show Choir made their debut on Sunday, October 2. Their season has just begun, and they aren’t slowing down until May!

Show Choir is an audition only elite choir at the high school. They perform regularly in the community and at school. They recently performed at the Italian Festival on the first week of October.

Their performance this year is called Cabaret. Junior, Noah Rostance says, “I  am excited for the shows this year. I enjoy being in show choir because it lets me express how I feel in a positive way.”

In addition to the choir as a group, individuals are also allowed to perform on higher levels. “Many of our members audition and get into Allstate chorus, where only the best of the best get in,” says Sophomore, Kyra Derrick.

The chorus teacher at Ashley Ridge also directs the show choir. “He is always pushing us to be our best and expecting more out of us every time. We look forward to strengthening our sight reading abilities and bringing home more superiors from concert festival in May,” says Derrick.

The show choir will continue to have performances throughout the year. We encourage our AR students to attend one of these shows and support our Swampfox Singers!
