Moana is the newest addition to the Disney princesses. Moana is also one of the few princesses of color. This movie was released on November 23, 2016 and ran for one hour and 53 minutes.

Directors, John Muskers and Ron Clements, created an animated film about a Pacific Islander princess, Moana (Auli’i Cravalho). She is an adventurous teenager who sails out into the ocean in order to save her island and her people. She must bring a stone that keeps balance to all the islands, so each island will stay alive. During Moana’s journey she uses the help of Demigod, Maui (Dwayne Johnson), who stole the stone in the first place. Together they sail the ocean having encounters with ginormous monsters and impossible odds.

Moana is an amazing movie filled with a great plot, hilarious characters, and incredible animations. The film has many glorious visuals like a giant flame monster that was introduced in the prologue.

One of the best attributes to the movie was the soundtrack. The movie was filled with so many amazing, catchy songs. The songs, courtesy of Opetaia Foa’i, Mark Mancina and Lin-Manuel Miranda, are some of Disney’s best music featured in their movies.

Moana is a PG, fantasy/action movie that is for people of all ages. There are so many phenomenal parts to the movie that it is impossible to pick a favorite part. I highly recommend this film to everyone. It will definitely become a classic Disney film.
