Authorities have charged two South Carolina teenagers for the murder of 74-year-old David Mackie. Local deputies found the teens in Georgia with Mackie’s car, and they where then arrested.

Aiken County Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said “The teens killed 74-year-old David Mackie and set his mobile home on fire Saturday night in New Ellenton,” in a news release.

Coroner Tim Carlton said Mackie was beaten and stabbed to death, before the fire was set. When firefighters arrived on scene Mackie’s mobile home was engulfed in flames.

Kayla Moore, 18 and a 17-year-old man were found in Conyers Georgia. Mackie’s car was found 35 miles east of┬áMadison County, Georgia. Police have not said what the motive behind the attack was. They were unsure if the teens had lawyers. Both South Carolina teens are being charged as adults.

Prayers go out to Mackie’s family members in this tough time.
