Did you miss Ashley Ridge prom? or did you not feel welcome? The organization We Are Family  is throwing a Masquerade Prom.

The prom will take place on Saturday, May 27th at the new Redux space, 1056 King Street, Charleston, SC, 29401. This prom is for middle and high school students. It is free admission, to get tickets email [email protected]

In early 1997, We Are Family started to offer direct services/ SafeSpace to LGBTQI youth in the Tri-County area through a weekly peer support group.

On the We Are Family website their mission says “We Are Family provides direct support, leadership development opportunities, and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex (LGBTQQI), and straight ally youth up to the age of 25”. The vision says “We Are Family’s vision is that LGBTQQI and straight ally youth feel empowered to find their places in the world, in their families, and in their communities”.

Senior At Ashley Ridge High School and a club member of ARHS Safe Space Kira Young says “There should be a great turn out”.
