Cardi B, real name Belcais Almanzar, is a hip-hop artist many have heard of, but not too many have listened to. That is until her debut album “Invasion of Privacy” was released on Friday, April 6. Since the release of her first studio album, Cardi B has set and broken records, proven people wrong, and has gotten many songs stuck in our heads.

The first single released before the album, “Bodak Yellow”, is a hardcore, upbeat track that boosted Cardi to the top of charts when it was released. The Bronx-based rapper has hits all throughout the album including gems like “I Like It” (peaking at # 8 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart) and “Bartier Cardi” (peaking at #14) (Billboard.com).

Aside from the wild, rambunctious, rough-riding Cardi we were first exposed to, Cardi B dug deeper on “Invasion Of Privacy” with more emotional songs, as well. Song “Get Up 10” hears the artist depicting her hard lifestyle growing up and how she stayed true to herself after making it in the rap game (HipHop.com).

“Invasion Of Privacy” is just the start of what looks like is going to a very promising career for the reality star turned musician. With the release of her album, Cardi B became the first female rapper in seventeen years to reach #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, since Lauryn Hill. Next to that accolade, Cardi also takes the crown from Taylor Swift surpassing the previous record of Swift’s “Reputation” album sales. “Invasion Of Privacy” nearly doubled the sales of “Reputation” in just its first week of release (DigitMusicNewa.com).With all the new records, new songs and new sides to Cardi B, “Invasion Of Privacy” only leaves wondering and wanting what is next to come.
