On Friday, February 8th, at Thousand Oaks High School, 50-year-old California woman and mother, Lisa Solis, was ran over with a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male student. Around 8:14pm, Solis confronted the teen in the parking lot after she saw him steal candy from the concession stand during a basketball game.

The woman stood in front of the vehicle as to stop the teen from leaving, but he proceeded to run her over, narrowly missing her head. The teen fled the scene and the woman was taken to the hospital, having major injuries.

As of Saturday, Solis was in critical condition. The teen was found near his residence and placed into a juvenile center, being charged on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Lisa Solis was the Activities Assistant of Thousand Oaks High School, coordinated major events for the school, and did the morning announcements.

Mark McLaughlin, Conejo Valley Unified School District’s superintendent, released a statement, saying, “We are heartbroken that a member of our…family suffered life-threatening injuries during an incident…outside last night’s basketball game…Please keep Lisa and her family in your thoughts and prayers.”
