Summerville High School Student Killed

On Monday, January 27, 2020, Summerville High School lost one of their own students. Jaquarie Perry, 16, died from a gunshot.

Jaqurie Perry was shot while walking near Boone Hill Road on Monday night. Classmates, friends, and family are in disbelief of this terrible death.

Perry was a 10th grader and a junior varsity football player. He was looking forward to joining the varsity team. Perry also ran track. Family and friends are sharing memories of Perry.

According to ABCnews4, a varsity football player said, “He was actually confident about it and wanted to pursue football and that’s what I liked about him. He was just a good guy. He didn’t ever bother nobody, he only ever worried about football and school and went about his day.”

Four suspects have been identified as the ones responsible for the killing of Jaquarie Perry. The boys arrested are 16 and 17 years old but they may be charged as adults. Investigators are still working a motive for the killing. Diante Xavier Shelton and three others have been taken into custody for being connected to this murder.
