Over the past years, many great artists have been a part of the captivating opening song for a James Bond movie. Shirley Bassey has released three theme songs for the 007 movies, such as “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Goldfinger”, both featuring her stunning vocals. In 1973, Paul McCartney sang “Live and Let Die” for the eighth James Bond film of the same name. In 2012, Adele released “Skyfall” for the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, and it saw immediate success. It made its way up the iTunes song chart quickly and even hit the number 8 mark on the Billboard Hot 100.

It seems like only the best sing for the 007 movie franchise. The upcoming James Bond movie, “No Time To Die,” is being released in April 2020. The featured song in the 25th Bond movie is being sung by 18-year-old singer, Billie Eilish, who is the youngest to sing for the franchise. Previously, the Scottish singer Sheena Easton was the youngest when she recorded her song at the age of 22.

Billie Eilish’s song called “No Time To Die” was released at 4 pm PT on February 13, 2020, in the excitement of the movie. Not breaking the tradition, she and her brother, Finneas, wrote and produced together. The day before she released the song, she put out a clip of the movie title while the chilling piano introduction of her new single was playing in the background. The day after, she put out the entire song as planned and it lasts 4:02 minutes.

Unlike multiple of the other songs featured in a 007 movie, Eilish didn’t try to outdo it with her vocals. She still sang like she usually did, low and haunting. However, at 3:20 seconds, she pulls off a beautiful note, giving the song an amazing and satisfying ending.

“Then we got a piece of the script, like the first scene. Then we wrote it immediately. We wrote it in three days and we wrote it in Texas and recorded it in a bunk on the bus in the dark,” Billie Eilish explained in an interview when asked how the process of the song writing went.

Eilish and her brother had always dreamed of writing a song for one of the James Bond movies. Eilish continued to say that a lot of her unreleased songs that they have written have given her a Bond feel.

Overall, “No Time To Die,” Billie Eilish’s most recent release, is a stunning song which captures both her art and the mood for the new James Bond movie coming out this April.
