COVID-19 Reaches Over 1 Million Deaths

COVID-19 has been one of the most devastating global pandemics ever. The pandemic has reached over 1 million world wide deaths (nytimes). With around 33.6 million confirmed cases, COVID-19 has been one of the most deadly pandemics in recent memory.

The United States ranks first among countries with the highest death toll. The U.S. has 7.2 million confirmed cases, and around 205,000 deaths. New York has the most confirmed cases and most confirmed deaths at 32,000. South Carolina has around 3,000 deaths and 142,000 cases.(covid.cdc)

COVID-19 is one of the most destructive pandemics the world has ever experienced. Not only has it taken many lives, it has changed many as well. Around 20.6 million jobs have been lost due to COVID-19. From public schools, to restaurants, COVID has changed the lives of many.

Although there is no vaccine for COVID, there are many ways to reduce the spread. Only leave your house when necessary, wash your hands, and most importantly: wear a mask and social distance.
