On Oct. 2, a trailer for the adaptation of the novel, “The Witches” by Roald Dahl, was released. The story is about a boy and his grandmother discovering a coven of witches who are trying to get rid of the children in Britain by turning them into mice.

Though the movie will be starring many popular actors, such as Anne Hathaway and Octavia Spencer, viewers were still disappointed by the trailer.

Most criticism was directed at the CGI and scare factor, with many people saying it didn’t look as scary as the 1990 adaptation.

Though there was a lot of negative talk around the trailer, some viewers came to the movie’s defense, saying the original book and adaptation were very dark and that the movie was made less scary for a younger audience to enjoy.

If you haven’t seen the trailer, you can watch it here, and share your thoughts and opinions on it. Do you think the movie will be good in its own way, or do you think they should have made it with more scare factor?
